ABOUT: Embury Institute for Higher Education, Established in 1995, is a fully accredited private institution that specialises in teacher education. They mainly focus on the foundation phase: pre-school and primary school teachers.

Application Closing Dates

For 2019 studies:

  • Full-time applications: Open in March 2019 and close in December 2019
  • Distance learning applications:
    • First intake: opens March 2019 and closes in June 2019
    • Second intake: opens July 2019 and closes in December 2019

Application Fees

Full-time applications: R600

Distance learning applications: R250

Course Cost

  • Full-time undergraduate degree: R47 500 to R48 500
  • Distance learning: R12 000 to R27 000
  • Postgraduate qualifications: R20 000

Before you apply to Embury Institute  you should have the following;

  1. Proof of payment of your application fee (compulsory for SA and International applicants )
  2. Certified copy of your ID document(ID document compulsory for SA citizens – your application cannot be processed without a certified copy of your ID.
  3. Exam Results: Grade 11 Marks are very important for your application. Your Matric June Marks is allowed by Embury Institute to use to apply. Thus, have it on hand.
  4. Remember you will need a valid email address when applying either online or in a hard copy . Note that the following systems do not accept emails from some of the universities: Hotmail, Webmail, Ymail, Outlook and Live. It is advisable to create and use a Gmail address for the application.

STEP 1: ONLINE APPLICATION

Go to the link below and complete the online application.

  • Proof of payment for application fee
  • Certified copy of your ID
  • Latest school results OR matric results

STEP 2: EMAIL YOUR APPLICATION FORM

  • You can download the application form below or on their website. Complete it and email it through with the necessary supporting documents.
  • Email them and request help. One of their recruitment advisers will contact you and help you along with the application process.

STEP 3: APPLY AT A CAMPUS NEAR YOU

Visit one of their three campuses between 8am and 4pm from Monday to Friday and one of the recruitment advisers on campus will help you with the application process.
